How to Navigate
If this is your first time on Bonsai Prelude, Welcome! Thank you for taking an interest in my humble opinions on bonsai. You'll find two types of posts primarily. The first are instructional posts that I wrote with the idea of covering the very basic ideas of bonsai. If you're just starting out learning bonsai I would suggest starting out with "The Art of Watering Bonsai" and moving chronologically forward in the "Bonsai Topics" category. The other material on this blog will be supplemental to a basic understanding of bonsai that you can examine as you please. Also note the "International Bonsai Library" post which is updated periodically to highlight those people that are making big moves in the bonsai community. So please enjoy, and do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions! ~Dylan-

Fall
Yes school has consumed me, so my posts have been few and far between. Unfortunately I don’t have any words of wisdom this time, only a few shots of my trees as winter approaches.

You Have to Love the Fall Colors. Red, Orange, Yellow…. Purple?
Just thought I’d add a cool little picture of the fall color on my Beauty Berry. I forget the specific cultivar, I purchased it last year as a seedling online. I let it grow a few berries this year, just … Continue reading

Bonsai Books
If you’ve read my blog from “cover to cover”, or know me personally, then you’re familiar with how much I detest bonsai books. I have read a great many bonsai books and they all seem to have the same flaw. … Continue reading
